WESLEY J. "WES" COULSON is the founder and managing attorney of The Coulson Law Group. He has over 24 years of legal experience, and serves clients throughout the St. Louis area, both in Missouri and Illinois. He is licensed in both states.

A frequent lecturer on estate and Medicaid eligibility planning topics, Mr. Coulson participates actively in continuing education programs. He is thus able to offer his clients the benefit of the latest and best planning techniques available.

Mr. Coulson is a 1978 graduate of the University of Michigan Law School, recognized then and now as one of our nation's top law schools. He was a member of its Journal of Law Reform. Wes earned his undergraduate degree, with honors, from Northwestern University in 1975, completing his studies there in three years.

Among Mr. Coulson's professional memberships are the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the St. Louis Estate Planning Council, and various bar associations. He serves the United Way Partnership as secretary of its board of directors, and participates actively in its allocations process.

Mr. Coulson is the author of three articles published in the Elder Law newsletter of the Illinois State Bar Association: The Purchase of or Exchange for a Life Estate Interest as a Medicaid Eligibility Planning Technique; The Use of Caregiver Services Contracts in Medicaid Eligibility Planning; and Opening the Door Gently: Medicaid Eligibility Planning and the “Three-Year Look-Back” Rule.

Wes lives in Troy, Illinois. He is the proud father of two sons, Jonathon (an advertising major at the University of Missouri) and Oliver (a construction management major at SIU-Edwardsville).
